Past the rate limit an API answers 429 with retry-after. Monthly quotas reset on the first day of each month (UTC).

How calls are counted

  1. Prices are before tax. Stripe adds sales tax or VAT at checkout where it applies.
  2. Only successful calls count. A call counts when the API answers with success (a 2xx status). Errors, refused keys, rate-limited calls and your own bad requests are free.
  3. On MCP, only tool calls count. Each tools/call that succeeds is one call. Connecting (initialize), listing tools (tools/list), pings, and a tool call that ends in an error are free.
  4. Monthly quotas are per API. Free, Starter and Pro allow their calls on each API separately, and reset on the first day of each month (UTC). Past the quota, that API answers 429 until the month ends; move to a bigger plan in the customer portal.
  5. Prepaid calls are shared, and replace the free calls. Pay-as-you-go calls work on any API. After your first purchase the key no longer gets the free monthly calls, and when the prepaid calls run out the APIs answer 402 and say how to buy more. A plan you buy later is used first, and your prepaid calls wait.
  6. Every plan has the same rate limit: up to 20 calls in any 10 seconds for each key. SkillScan's on-demand scans also have the daily limit in the table above.
